Mimi’s Mission services the downriver community for children with Autism. It is all free to the families.
- Support groups offered weekly for the whole family at the Flat Rock Rec Center
- Outings in the community where Mimi’s Mission rents out the facilities to have Autism-friendly events i.e. movie theater, Rev’d Up
- Provides families free of charge items needed for the home to help with sensory needs i.e. trampoline, weights, etc.
- 911 Ready Program- parents or guardians can fill out a form and insert a picture of their child into the 911 system. This will immediately come up on the police officer's computer screen if they are responding to a call to give them information about the person’s disability.
- 911 Ready Bags for Law Enforcement and Fire Departments:
- Trains departments on Autism and how to respond
- Provides 911 Sensory bags for Officers to have in their patrol cars when responding to a person with autism in crisis.
- Trains departments on Autism and how to respond
- Dynamic Duo program- allows parents and their significant other to get a night out
- Puzzle Preneurs program- helps take the person with Autisms talent and get hired for jobs
- New group starting May 7th called Downriver Young Adults (17-30 years old)
